Definition
The Crypto Fear & Greed Index condenses several sentiment inputs — volatility, momentum, volume, social signals — into a single number from 0 (extreme fear) to 100 (extreme greed).
How it works
It is a contrarian tool. Extreme fear can mark points where the market has over-sold and bounces become more likely; extreme greed can mark froth. It is context, not a trade signal on its own.
