What is Whale in crypto?

A trader or entity large enough for a single order to move the market.

Definition

A whale is a market participant holding a very large amount of an asset — big enough that their buying or selling can noticeably move price.

How it works

Watching whale-sized orders hit the tape shows where big money is positioning. A cluster of large buys into a falling market can mark accumulation; heavy selling into strength can mark distribution. Whale activity is a read on smart-money flow, not a guarantee of direction.
